Bikel Family
A Tradition of Heritage
The Bikel Family began in 1687 by accident. An odd-looking farmhand accidentally impregnated a local woman who claimed to be of noble birth, but who years later turned out to be lying.
The name “Bikel” either comes from the German word “biggel” meaning “garden hoe”, or it comes from a Hebrew acronym ביקל (bet-yud-koof-lamed), that, when expanded and translated to English, means “Man whose pants smell of old cheese”.
